Cornerstone Insurance and Longworth family donates $100K to Play it Forward Campaign

The front counter area at the Lake Country Co-Op Leisure Centre now has an official name thanks to a $100,000 donation from Cornerstone Insurance and the Longworth Family.

On Wednesday, a special cheque presentation was held at the facility with over half a dozen members of the family in attendance.

As per a press release from the city, the Longworth family has for decades been an integral part of the community, and the legacy started by Tim and Carla, now continues with Brock Longworth and Shantel Kalika.

“Their commitment ensures Cornerstone Insurance remains not only a trusted business but also a pillar of generosity and local pride. Tim Longworth told paNOW they were thrilled to be able to contribute to the community.

The Play it Forward Campaign is a community-driven fundraising initiative supporting the Lake Country Co-Op Leisure Centre.

“This donation is more than a financial contribution; it is an investment in the children, families and shared future of Prince Albert. The impact of this gift will be felt for generations to come,” City Councillor and Play it Forward Campaign representative Dawn Kilmer said.

Wednesday’s cheque presentation follows a similar announcement last Friday involving the Dutchak family and the naming of the multi-purpose and boardrooms.
