Nov 21, 2025 | 11:14 AM

After a successful seven game road swing that saw the Prince Albert Raiders earn 11 out of a possible 14 points through Lethbridge and the U.S., the Raiders are now at the top of the WHL Power Rankings and second in the CHL Power Rankings.

For their first home game in 20 days, the tough Raiders defence will play host to the red hot Brandon Wheat Kings offence.

The Raiders are coming in off a 4-3 overtime loss in their last game to the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday. That’s part of a four-game point streak for the Raiders that saw them win 5-4 in overtime in Seattle, 4-2 in Portland, and a big 4-1 win over the league-leading Everett Silvertips.

In the standings, the Raiders still sit third in the league, with two games in hand over Everett in second, and five games in hand over Edmonton in first. They lead the East Division by nine points with a record of 15-1-4 (wins-losses-overtime). The Raiders have also given up the least amount of goals in the league at 51.

As for the Wheat Kings, a slow start to the season has turned around, and they are starting to look like the East Division title contenders everyone thought they would be. Since starting the season 0-4-1, they have since went 10-4-1 over 15 games. They now sit with a record of 10-9-1, with the second-highest scoring offense in the league at 102 goals. It means they are currently sitting fourth in the Eastern Division and 14th in the league.

This is the second time the Raiders and Wheat Kings have met this year. The first time was back on Sept. 27, when the Raiders took away a 5-4 win in overtime thanks to a goal from Aiden Oiring.

As of late, the Wheat Kings are on a two game winning streak with a 6-4 win in Moose Jaw on Tuesday, and a 6-5 overtime win at home over Medicine Hat on Saturday. The Wheat Kings have won four of their last six games, and they have not had two losses in a row since that 0-4-1 stretch at the start of the season.

Looking at the special teams battle, the Raiders have dropped all the way down to 15th in the league on the powerplay at 22.5 per cent after starting as one of the hottest powerplays in the league. On the penalty kill, the Raiders are sitting eighth in the league at 80 per cent.

As for the Wheat Kings, their powerplay is the second best in the league at 33.8 per cent, while their penalty kill is sitting second last in the league at 66. per cent.

In the scoring race, the Raiders have only two players in the top 50 in the WHL scoring. The Raiders are led by Brayden Dube with 9G-14A-23P. He is tied for 35th in league scoring. Aiden Oiring follows with 9G-13A-22P, which ties him for 41st in the league. Riley Boychuk is third in Raiders scoring with 3G-17A-20P.

As of late, Linden Burrett is riding a three game point streak with 1G-3A, and Riley Boychuk has 0G-2A in the last two games. Brayden Dube was held pointless in the loss to Wenatchee, but scored three straight game winners in the three games prior. Evan Smith was held pointless in the overtime win in Seattle, but he has 4G-1A in his last four games.

Leading the Wheat Kings is Jaxson Jacobson, who currently sits second in league scoring with 8G-30A-38P on the year. Behind him is Luke Mistlebacher who sits eighth in the league with 14G-16A-30P, and Joby Baumuller sits tied for 21st in league scoring with 13G-12A-25P this year.

For hot streaks, Joby Baumuller has 4G-2A, including a hat trick, in the last three games. In the last two games, Jaxson Jacobson has 3G-3A, Caleb Hadland has 0G-3A, and Jordan Gavin has 1G-1A.

In goal, the Raiders boast the tandem of Michal Orsulak and Dimitri Fortin. For Orsulak, he comes in with a record of 8-0-3 on the year, including two shutouts and a league-best save percentage of 0.921. Behind him, Fortin has a 6-1-1 record, including one shutout, and a 0.886 save percentage.

As for the Wheat Kings, 17-year-old Czechian goaltender Filip Ruzicka has been a big part of the team’s turnaround with a record of 8-3-0 along with a 0.880 save percentage. Behind him is 19-year-old Prince Albert native Jayden Kraus with a 2-5-1 record and a 0.863 save percentage.

The Raiders and Wheat Kings will do battle for the second time this season at 7:00 p.m. tonight (Friday) at the Art Hauser Centre. You can listen in live during the pregame show on Brandt Raider Radio 900 CKBI.
