Truck and ATV collision near Pelican Lake First Nation turns fatal

On November 18, the Spiritwood RCMP were called to a collision around 6:30 p.m. near Pelican Lake First Nation. Upon arrival, RCMP found a collision that had occurred between a truck and an ATV.

The ATV had two occupants, a 34-year-old male driver from Pelican Lake First Nation who was pronounced dead on scene, and an adult female passenger from Flying Dust First Nation who was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

As for the occupants of the truck, an adult male driver from Pelican Lake First Nation was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. There were three passengers, one woman and two men, two of whom were from Pelican Lake First Nation, while the other was from Witchekan Lake First Nation, and none of them were injured.

The investigation is ongoing with members of the RCMP Collision Reconstruction unit, as well as the Spiritwood RCMP, Saskatchewan Coroners Service, and the Forensic Identification Section.
