Speed Dating with a Canvas – Work Sold As Fundraiser

On November 8th local artists paid $10 for a canvas and brought the medium of their choice and gathered at 625 Branion Drive to create eight collaborative paintings in two hours!!

We named the event “Speed Dating with a Canvas” as the canvases were passed from artist to artist and were painted on for approximately eight minutes before they proceeded on their way to the next artist so they could work their talents!!

They ended up at the initial creator of the piece for final touch ups for approximately15 minutes. The results were amazing, and so many laughs were had throughout the evening!!!

It also proved to be a very therapeutic exercise for the artists which was an added bonus that we hadn’t even dreamed of happening!!

Prior to the event, we decided that we would auction off the paintings in an attempt to give back to our community.

We decided on two local causes: the Rose Garden Hospice and Sandra’s Framing Gallery and Gifts “Christmas Gifts for Prince Albert Shelters”. All money raised will be divided equally between these two very worthy causes.

A Facebook Group has been created for the auction and bidding has already begun and will continue until 8pm on December 9th.

To bid, people are asked to comment on the individual photos.

All of the artwork is equipped for hanging and is displayed at Sandra’s Framing Gallery and Gifts at 625 Branion Drive.
