Denare Beach wildfire victims to get 35 temporary homes
Up to 35 temporary modular homes will be available for residents of Denare Beach who lost their previous homes to wildfires this summer.
Representatives from the Village of Denare Beach, the Town of Creighton and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency met with residents last week to discuss the plan.
“Our government and the Recovery Task Team are supporting Denare Beach and Creighton by working together with their leaders to meet the needs of displaced residents as we head into the winter months,” Corrections, Policing and Public Safety Minister Tim McLeod, K.C. said. “The recent information session allowed residents of both communities to learn about the temporary housing plan.”
Some of the homes will go back into Denare Beach, which lost 225 homes and outbuildings during an intense fire storm in early June and others will go into Creighton.
