‘It’s legacy’: Anderson Motors celebrates 70th anniversary

Sep 8, 2025 | 9:42 AM

Surrounded by car enthusiasts seemed a very fitting away for a Prince Albert vehicle dealership to celebrate its 70th birthday on Sunday.

The parking lot at Anderson Motors was filled with classic cars, food trucks and hundreds of people who stopped by just to say congratulations. Co-owner Don Jones told paNOW it’s amazing to have a family owned business in the city for 70 years.

“My grandpa started it in November, 1955 and then my dad and my uncle bought into it. They were 19 and 21 years old when they bought into it and then in the early 90s, my big brother and I bought into it, and then my younger brother bought our uncle out so we’ve been around for a long time,” he said.

And now Don’s son Nathan and his brother’s son Mitchell have bought into it, making it fourth generation.

“It’s legacy, ” Jones said.

“There’s lots of corporations that come in and buy dealership groups and stuff like that and for us to be able to have that legacy, it’s amazing, and to have our kids come in and want to work and be successful at it is even more amazing and I still love coming to work every day.”

Acknowledging all the employees present in the parking lot, Jones said they too feel like family and added seeing all the support of the community made him feel good.

“You know we always get asked about the legacy and stuff, but you know it’s about the people you work with and it’s about the community you live in. You support it as much as you can and try to make a go of it.”

Body shop manager Jackie Hallam comes from a wide background of employment, including restaurant manager and a service advisor in a couple of dealerships.

“So I’ve been here a few years now and Don asked some of us if we would mind, like kicking off the 70th anniversary and we said okay. We threw together a little committee amongst the staff, and got here early this morning, and wow like cars were here at 9 o’clock,” she explained. “So it was just, it’s a great showing.”
