Teen charged with attempted murder following stabbing at East Flat residence

A 13-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy are in hospital following a stabbing incident on the 900 Block of 2nd Street East.

Prince Albert Police were called to the scene around 10:45 p.m. last night, hearing that an assault was in progress in an apartment.

The 15-year-old boy who is suspected of the assault fled the scene before police arrived.

The two victims were taken to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance, but the girl was later transferred to a hospital in Saskatoon for further treatment.

Police said the 15-year-old suspect was found and is now in police custody.

He has since been charged with one count of attempted murder on the 13-year-old female and one count of aggravated assault on the 15-year-old male.

The accused will make their first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Officers say the teens knew each other.
