Aug 12, 2025 | 4:26 PM

A police response near the Prince Albert Correctional Centre in the city’s West Hill was caused by a man being found with a gunshot wound.

PA Police were conducting regular patrols on Second Avenue West at around 7:10 a.m. when they found a man sitting in the middle of the road.

After stopping, officers learned the man had been shot and provided first aid while awaiting the arrival of Parkland Ambulance.

His injuries were determined to not be life-threatening.

The investigation also revealed that the shooting happened at a home in the 2900 block of First Avenue West, which was then contained.

Police detained three people who were inside for further investigation but have not laid any charges so far.

The Emergency Response Team and a K9 officer with the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety were called in and the Saskatchewan Marshals Service helped with scene containment.
