East Hill stabbing suspect denied bail
A man alleged to be responsible for a violent incident in Prince Albert’s East Hill area, where a young woman was attacked and stabbed over 20 times, has been denied bail.
Isaiah Peekeekoot, 18, appeared Thursday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Due to the fact that the case could proceed to trial and be heard by a jury, a publication ban was placed on all the evidence heard during the half-hour-long hearing. This included the judge’s reasons for denying bail.
Peekeekoot, who was represented by a legal aid lawyer and supported in the courtroom gallery by multiple family members, was remanded to Aug. 13.
