Clawing their way back from near extinction, the Lakeland Raptors have been crowned the 2025 champions of the Prince Albert Men’s basketball league.

The playoffs were held over three weeks and the final game was held on April 10 at the CPAC gym at Carlton Comprehensive High School. The Raptors defeated the Whitefish Lakers 75-63.

League coordinator Denny Heathen was very pleased with the outcome of the season.

“This third season has made me feel very blessed to think where God has brought me out of and now bringing joy to the basketball community,” he said, adding equal happiness seeing everyone giving their best and leaving content.

The eight team men’s league began back in September. All regular season games were held at the Elevation Academy Gym.

Prior to defeating the Lakers, the underdog Raptors, who had entered the playoffs in sixth place, also defeated the Dependables and Princetown.

The Raptors Captain was Wyatt Newman and the MVP award went to Jeremy Svenkeson.
