
Canadian teenager Erin Brooks reaches round of 16 at Surf City El Salvador Pro
LA LIBERTAD — Canadian teenage surfer Erin Brooks advanced to the round of 16 at the Surf City El Salvador Pro on Thursday.
The 17-year-old moved on by finishing runner-up in her opening heat to Australian Isabella Nichols, who posted a total score of 10.33. Brooks was next at 8.90 ahead of American Sawyer Lindblad at 8.47
The event is the fourth stop of the season on the World Surf League’s Championship Tour.
Brooks came to El Salvador sixth in the standings after finishing third last time out at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal in March, fifth at the Surf Abu Dhabi Pro and ninth in the season-opening Lexus Pipe Pro in Hawaii.
