PBCN Petro Canada: Celebrating 20 years of success and growth

Mar 21, 2025 | 5:48 PM

From the humble beginnings 20 years ago as a single, small gas station in Prince Albert, PBCN Petro Canada has become an example of growth and a community leader when it comes to customer service.

In addition to adding another service station in the city on 6th Ave. East, and the Hilltop Tunnel Wash on 2nd Ave. West, the company has also added businesses in both Flin Flon and Creighton, which boasts a Tim Horton’s. When asked about the secret to their success, managing director Peter Gambin credits the customers.

“I want to thank our customers that have been the biggest reason why we are here 20 years later”

Between the four businesses, PBCN Petro Canada employs upwards of 90 staff, and roughly 50 are right in Prince Albert. Acknowledging a number of longtime staff members, Gambin is proud of the friendships they have created with their customers.

“We get a lot of people that do come back and mention the service and we try to provide as good as service as we can to our customers,” he said.

Reflecting back on the past 20 years, Gambin noted the biggest change that sticks out for him personally is the growth, noting how when he first came on, they were only looking at one small gas station in Prince Albert.

“We weren’t expecting the growth that we’ve seen.”

May 13, 2025 officially marks the official 20 year anniversary of the first service station at 3451 2nd Ave. West and to celebrate the momentous occasion, a special live-on-location anniversary celebration will be held on Saturday, May 10.

In addition to smaller draws, the event will also include the highly anticipated giveaway of a side -by-side trailer pack. People can enter the weekly qualifier draws with a simple 30 litre fuel purchase.

“On May 10th, one of 12 people will have the key that starts the side by side.”

Looking ahead to the future, Gambin is not ruling out more expansion.

“There’s always interest in that”
