As extreme cold warnings persisted over the weekend, the inside of the Indian & Métis Friendship Centre was heating up for the Prince Albert Winter Festival’s annual jigging contest.

Over a hundred people braved the cold with some taking to the stage to show their moves.

“Because we have such a small complex, this is more of a community event. Everyone is here to have fun,” said Winter Festival vice president Trina Joseph.

The event had seven categories including Men, Women, Jr. Men, Jr. Women, Senior, Youth, and Tiny Tots.

After the payouts, everyone who participated in the contest took part in a group jig to close out the show.

Winter Festival events continue Sunday night with the annual Beerd Derby Finals at 7 p.m. at the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation.
