P.A. got into some penalty trouble in the first period, which resulted in the game’s opening tally when Kaegan Lowe got Battlefords on the board.

The score remained that way until the 6:29 mark of the second, when Corbin Nieman doubled the Stars lead before Waylon Gardipy tripled it less than 40 seconds later.

Now 3-0 with 1:35 to play in the third, Gardipy scored his second of the night to cap off the 4-0 win for Battlefords.

In the other goal, Josh Henry made 32 saves in the loss as the Mintos fall to seventh in the standings with an 18-14-2 record.

Prince Albert returns home on Friday for game one of a home-and-home set with the Tisdale Trojans. Friday’s contest is set for 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre, while game two goes 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tisdale Recplex.
