Teenage boy charged with killing dog in northern Sask. community

Saskatchewan RCMP are confirming a teenage boy from a remote northern Saskatchewan community, has been charged with causing death to an animal.

It has to do with an incident that occurred earlier this week at Deschambault Lake. According to a media release issued Friday night by the RCMP, on Thursday they received a report of a male teen seriously injuring a dog.

Officers located the dog deceased and as a result of further investigation, the teen was arrested at a residence in the community.

“We are unable to identify the youth as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. We are unable to provide more information about this incident as it may identify the youth involved,” the RCMP said.
