Sharks at Prairie WinterInternational

The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club recently participated in the prestigious Prairie WinterInternational (PWI) swimming championship held in Winnipeg, an event that attracts top talent from across the country.

After a 10-hour journey, the Sharks delivered an exceptional performance, showcasing their skill and determination.

Highlights include: Ali D. breaking the Canadian para-swimming record in the 50m breaststroke for SB9 classification Zoe C., in her first international meet, earning seven medals (three gold, one silver, and three bronze) and breaking the 200m butterfly record.

Clara G., just 15 years old, made it to the finals in all her events and set a new club record in the 1500m freestyle, breaking a 17-year-old mark.

Other remarkable achievements came from Jaxen S., Anna S., Maia L., Myla M., Jamie, Sophia W., and Kayen, who all delivered personal bests, qualified for finals, and met significant milestones.

The club’s success is a testament to the swimmers’ dedication, discipline, and hard work, as well as the unwavering support of their parents.
