Knife incidents

Charges laid after truck stabbed

Dec 5, 2024 | 10:59 AM

Two men have been arrested following separate knife incidents yesterday, one involving an attack on a truck and the other at a mall in the South Hill.

Prince Albert Police were called just after 10 pm on Wednesday to the 900 Block of 1st Avenue West.

The caller said a man was stabbing at their truck and had then fled westbound.

Officers were told that the suspect approached their truck and began yelling and tried to open the door.

They were unsuccessful because the door was locked but the suspect then pulled out a knife and began stabbing at the truck. Officers found and arrested a 24-year-old man who now faces charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.

Earlier the same day, members of the PA Police arrested a 23-year-old man at around 3:30 pm.

They had responded to a call at a mall in the 2900 Block of 2nd Ave. West.

The caller said the suspect had threatened them with a knife and fled the scene prior to officers getting there.

However, they found the man matching the suspect’s description and arrested him a short distance away.

Officers learned the suspect had been asked to leave the building and refused. Instead, he pulled a knife and threatened the victim.

The 23-year-old man is now facing charges of assault with a weapon and failing to comply with court conditions.
