The Crime Reduction Team and members of the Humboldt RCMP detachment arrested a man wanted in three other cities at a residence in Humboldt several days ago.

Officers learned that Clayton Fenwick, age 24, was at a home on 11 Street in Humboldt and surrounded it as a way to ensure public safety on Nov. 22.

After two hours of negotiation with the CRT, Fenwick left the building and was arrested without incident along with a woman who was at the scene. She was later released with no charges.

Fenwick had been wanted in Yorkton, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw and had seven warrants out for his arrest for failing to stop for police, stealing a vehicle, driving while prohibited and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle among others.

After searching the house on 11th Street, police seized five guns and some ammunition. A vehicle that had been reported stolen from Lake Lenore on October 10 was also found.

In addition to his previous charges, Fenwick is now further charged with resisting police, uttering threats, five counts of having a gun while knowing he should not, having a restricted gun, tampering with a serial number and having property obtained by crime.

He made his first appearance in Humboldt Provincial Court on Nov. 25.
