PAPS hires new communications lead

A former reporter for Global News in Saskatoon, followed by a stint in media relations with the Saskatoon Police in now the point of contact for the Prince Albert Police.

Easton Hamm is in his first week on the job.

“We are excited to welcome Easton to the Prince Albert Police Service. His experience in media and communications, along with his time at the Saskatoon Police Service, will greatly contribute to our efforts in enhancing transparency and fostering trust within the community. We believe his expertise will be instrumental in strengthening our engagement with the public,” said Prince Albert Police Chief Patrick Nogier.

Hamm earned a diploma in Broadcast News at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary before hiring on with Global in Saskatchewan.

After several years as a reporter in Saskatoon, he spent six months filling a maternity position for SPS before moving to Prince Albert.

“It is my pleasure to join the amazing team of both sworn and civilian members at the Prince Albert Police Service. The community plays a critical role in policing and I look forward to working towards enhancing engagement and building trust between the community and the police service,” said Hamm.

One of his goals is to use his information and knowledge to help him in his job as a conduit between the public, media and the police service.
