A 14-year-old girl was accused of pouring a liquid on a 15-year-old girl at Evan Hardy Collegiate, and lighting her on fire on Sept. 5, is facing new charges unrelated to that incident.

During a brief appearance on Wednesday at Saskatoon Provincial Court, Furlonger said the 14-year-old has since been charged with assault and uttering threats in relation to another alleged incident involving a male on Nov. 8.

No details on what may have happened, or where the alleged incident occurred were provided.

The teen’s defence lawyer asked for an adjournment until Dec. 18 to review additional disclosure documents.

The teen is already facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and arson after the 15-year-old was badly injured and was taken to an Edmonton hospital for treatment. According to Crown Prosecutor Ainsley Furlonger, the teen is still there.

The 14-year-old is also facing a fourth charge of unlawfully causing bodily harm, after a teacher who intervened and tried to help the 15-year-old, was also injured.

The Crown has since given notice that it will pursue an adult sentence for the 14-year-old.
