Oct 28, 2024 | 3:00 PM

Saskatchewan RCMP say a teenage boy was assaulted during a home invasion in Debden.

The incident happened Friday morning and the injuries were described as non-life threatening in nature.

The police investigation has determined two unknown men wearing face coverings entered the residence. After assaulting the youth, they left the residence in a vehicle described as a blue SUV with a burnt-out tail light.

The vehicle was last seen heading towards Highway 55.

Big River RCMP continue to investigate. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to report it to police by calling their local RCMP detachment. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

A person close to the incident informed paNOW a woman and grandson live at the residence and he was getting ready for school when the intruders burst in and asked “where is he?”

While one suspect stood by the door, another went into the house and to the boy’s bedroom where he punched the teen about fives times in the head.

After realizing they had the wrong house, the suspects went to leave but not before demanding the woman’s cellphone. The victim suffered a black eye.
