Moe and Beck both express election confidence in Saskatoon

There was no rest for Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe and NDP Leader Carla Beck on Saturday ahead of tomorrow’s provincial election.

Both were campaigning in Saskatoon.

Beck, surrounded by members of the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses, reiterated the importance of prioritizing health care and its workers.

“Last year, we lost 4000 healthcare workers out of the province,” said Beck. “We’ve got a commitment to not only hire an additional 800 workers into the healthcare system, but to cut that rate of people leaving the province, leaving the profession in half.”

Beck said this would see more than 2000 health care workers retained.

Beck also believes her party can make an immediate impact on the lives of Saskatchewan families.

“We are confident that we can hit the ground running and start turning this around on day one,” said Beck. “It’s (our platform) built with … a plan to hit the ground running right away to deliver relief to Saskatchewan people.”

Beck said she is very confident heading into tomorrow’s election.

Meanwhile, Moe surrounded himself with Sask. Party MLAs from Saskatoon and surrounding areas, and also said he was confident.

“We’ve put before Saskatchewan people into action, a plan to continue to strengthen the growing, vibrant economy,” said Moe.

Moe said he wants to ensure that children growing up in Saskatchewan don’t leave the province.

“We also want to ensure that … we have an opportunity for your child, your children, our future, to choose to stay in Saskatchewan.

Moe said he feels like his party’s message was well spread.

“This has been a very strong campaign,” said Moe.

Polls close at 8 p.m. on Monday.
