UPDATE: Two suspects caught, two still at large, alert cancelled

Update: Police have arrested two of four suspects in the Tobin Lake area, a male and a female, RCMP confirmed at 4:00 pm.

The dangerous person alert is cancelled but two of the suspects remain at large.

Police say they are on foot still in the area of the lake and police should expect a continued police presence. Highway 123 is blocked, meaning there is no road access to Cumberland House.

As the search continues, people are reminded to remain vigilant. Anyone with information is asled to call 310-RCMP or 911 if there is an emergency.

Update: At 10:43 a.m. RCMP issued an update to say the suspects are now believed to be on foot in the Thunder Rapids area on Hwy 123 which is north of Tobin Lake towards Cumberland House. They are no longer in the vehicle. The public is advised to stay away from the area.

There are multiple suspects. They are considered armed and dangerous.

If in the Thunder Rapids and surrounding area: seek immediate shelter or shelter in place and close and lock doors and windows. Do not leave a secure location. Be cautious of someone asking for a ride. Do not pick up hitch hikers. Do not disclose police locations. Be cautious if not in the immediate described areas.

RCMP said this is a rapidly unfolding situation and the initial alert was first issued to a wide area. As the situation continues to unfold, the alert radius has been adjusted accordingly. Up-to-date alert information can be found on the SaskAlert website.

The initial information provided by RCMP was that the driver of a vehicle north of Prince Albert was approached near the White Star elevator, robbed of their vehicle and shot. They have been transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

RNF Ventures Ltd. confirmed for paNOW it was one of their vehicles and the person shot is one of their employees. The company declined at this time to say anything more.

Drivers and residents around Prince Albert and surrounding area north of the city are asked to be on high alert as police hunt for suspects involved in a shooting that took place this morning around 8:30 a.m.

RCMP said the driver of a vehicle north of Prince Albert was approached near the White Star elevator, was robbed of their vehicle and shot. They have been transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

The suspects are three or four men that may be wearing black bandanas or balaclavas and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects were last seen driving around 10 a.m on Highway 123 heading north towards Cumberland House. They are in a 2020 white Dodge Ram 1500 with a green tool box and Saskatchewan plate RNF50.

Residents in the area are advised to seek shelter or shelter in place, do no pick up hitchhikers and do not disclose police locations.

RCMP have issued an emergency alert and will provide more update as they become available.

A week ago, two other vehicles were stolen in the Prince Albert area in a similar manner. Those suspects were not captured.
