Macias returns to Raiders roster

After a lengthy look with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers, 20-year-old import forward Krzyzstof Macias is officially making his return to the Prince Albert Raiders ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Spokane Chiefs.

Signed to a Player Try Out with the Checkers, Macias did not get a chance to get into any AHL preseason action as the Checkers were one of 10 teams in the AHL without any preseason games scheduled this year.

Acquired by the Raiders last year during the 2023 WHL import draft in the first round by the Raiders 15th overall. In his first year with the Raiders, he put up 22G-25A-47P in 65 games with the Raiders, along with a goal in five games during the playoffs.

Macias will not be in the lineup to start against Spokane on Wednesday or against Prince George on Saturday as he serves the last two games of a suspension carrying over from last year.

With the return of Macias, that brings the Raiders back to four 20-year-olds along with forward Niall Crocker, defenceman Cedricson Okitundu, and goaltender Max Hildebrand, and three imports on the team along with Lukas Kral and the newly acquired Vojtech Vochvest.
