With the regular season starting in just days, the Prince Albert Raiders have made a trade that gets the team younger and secures a young prospect. The Raiders have acquired Czech 2006-born Lukáš Král from the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for a seventh round pick in 2025.

Originally from Sadska, Czechia, 18-year-old Lukáš Král was taken by the Spokane Chiefs sixth overall in the 2023 WHL Import Draft. In his first season in the WHL, Král posted 8G-8A-16P in 43 games on a team that earned the last spot in the WHL playoffs last year.

Listed at 5-foot-11-inches, Král played with Mountfield HK U20 in the Czechia U20 league during his 16-year-old season where he posted 13G-17A-30P in 45 games played. That same year, Král was also a part of the World U17 Hockey Challenge for team Czechia where he posted 2G-3A-5P in six games.

Along with Norwin Panocha and Krzysztof Macias, Král is the third international player on the Raiders roster. Macias is currently at camp in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers, the affiliate of the Florida Panthers.
