Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire calls Prince Albert home.

Mark Georget won $5 million on LOTTO 6/49’s August 28 Classic Jackpot draw. He checked his numbers on the Western Canada Lottery Corporation website.

“I saw the full line of numbers and checked the prize,” he said. “I saw it said ‘SK Winner,’ then I checked it three more times to make sure.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Palliser Way Convenience Store in Yorkton and Georget matched all six Classic draw numbers. He noted when he first told his friends and family, they all thought he was joking.

“It feels good; it feels great,” he added. “I don’t have plans yet, but it’s going to make life a little bit easier in retirement.”

Sask Lotteries is celebrating 50 years as the main fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups in communities across the province.
