Nearly $130,000 in THC, meth, tobacco and phone seized at Sask. Penitentiary
Banned substances worth $128,750 found inside the institution were seized at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert this week thanks to the ‘vigilance of staff members’ according to Corrections Canada.
Some THC, methamphetamine, tobacco, a cell phone and accessories were discovered, confiscated and reported to the Prince Albert Police Service.
Corrections Canada said it uses a number of tools to stop drugs from getting inside it’s facilities, such as scanners and drug detection dogs that search buildings, personal property, inmates and visitors.
The Saskatchewan Penitentiary, at the outskirts of the city, regularly catches drugs that people are attempting to smuggle inside the building.
