Battleford local wins big on LOTTO MAX

The excitement and overwhelming feeling of winning a lottery jackpot is exactly what you’d expect, according to Jennifer Crain.

The Battleford local won $1 million on the LOTTO MAX Aug. 16 draw.

“I checked [the ticket] and was in shock and just started calling all my family members,” she laughed. “I called four people that morning and no one would answer.”

Her husband was at work at the time, but could hear his phone going off over and over.

“I finally answered and said, ‘Why are you calling me so much? Do you miss me or something?’ She said, ‘No, I won $1million!’ I said, ‘Get out of here!’”

Crain said her plan with the money is to enjoy it with family. They’re looking at buying a trailer and taking a trip.

“We have a plan to also go to Mexico and Vegas – [my husband] has never been to Vegas,” she said.

Crain purchased her winning LOTTO MAX ticket from the Petro Canada located at 352 22nd St. in Battleford. She won her prize by matching the selection for a MAXMILLIONS draw.
