A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of Norman Wenzel in Prince Albert’s Kemp Cresent last month.

Quentin Gardiner, age 38, made his first court appearance this morning in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

On Canada Day, PAPS was called to Kemp Crescent for a disturbance and found Wenzel suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital and later died.

This is not the only time Gardiner has been in the news of late.

In May 2024, he was given a sentence of time served for a charge of attempted homicide in the 500 Block of Fifth Avenue East.

The unidentified victim had been dropped off at a home where there was a party going on to buy drugs.

He came out a short time later and told his driver that he needed to go the hospital. He had a stab wound and other injuries.

Wenzel was waiting for a court hearing himself when he passed away.
