Day 1 results for Tony Cote Summer Games

The first day of competition in the Tony Cote Summer Games has already resulted in several medals being handed out to various athletes.

In the girls U13 two-kilomete run, Harper Bear (Team Woodland) took first place, Kendall Cook (Team Woodland) took second place, and Ava Mirasty (Meadow Lake Tribal Council) took third. In the same division for boys, James Cook (Team Woodland) took first, Cole Lewis (Big River First Nation) took second and Tyrus Gardiner (Big River First Nation) took third.

In the girls U15 three-km run, Peyton Buffin (Meadow Lake Tribal Council) took first, Alver Thomas (Agency Chiefs Tribal Council) took second, and Aaliyah Opikokew (Team Woodland) took third. For the boys, Xavier Thunder (Agency Chiefs Tribal Council) took first, Connor Bird (Team Woodland) took second, and Noah Lariviere (Team Woodland) took third.

There was only one female competitor in the U17 three-km, which was Deanna Morin-Clarke who took gold. For boys U17 four-km run, Jordis Wolverine (Team Woodland) took first, Jesse Caskanette (Torchwood Agency Tribal Council) took second, and Corvin Rabbitskin (Big River First Nation) took third.
