Stinky situation

A funky mystery?

An unpleasant odour has been lingering in Prince Albert, and the source remains a mystery.

The smell appears to have started Wednesday night and continued throughout Thursday. The central area of the city and the downtown appear to be the most affected.

On social media, people were using the words “manure” and “burning garbage.”

When paNOW reached out to City Hall for answers, a communications manager replied they too did not have an answer, but quickly added they are investigating.

She was able to confirm it did not appear related to the landfill or any sewer lines being broken.

The manager at the wastewater treatment plant was expected to be back in his office Friday and may at that time be able to shed more light on what’s been happening.
