Woman with warrant in P.A. arrested after high-speed chase in Saskatoon, caught by police plane
Saskatoon’s air support unit helped police arrest three people after a high-speed chase in the city on Friday.
Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release that on July 26 around 3:50 a.m. officers saw a Chevrolet truck that matched the description of a vehicle involved in multiple thefts driving eastbound on 25th Street East near Idylwyld Drive.
Police said a ground patrol then attempted a traffic stop on College Drive but the driver took off at high speed while travelling in the opposite lane to traffic.
Because of the risk, the ground pursuit was called off and the plane became the eye in the sky for police.
