SaskParks Features Northern Regions

Jul 23, 2024 | 10:09 AM

Our northern regions have the spotlight this week!

Saskatchewan is much more than just wide-open prairies, so let’s travel up north and immerse ourselves in the province’s dense boreal forest.

Saskatchewan has 12 provincial parks spanning our northern regions, ranging from wilderness parks to recreational parks to historical parks. You’ll be met with dense forests, clear lakes and, if you’re adventurous enough, the largest desert-like ecosystem in Canada.

Participate in the parks’ programming or escape the noise by heading into the backcountry — these regions have something for everyone!

Programmed events are tailored to each park to ensure the trek up north is worth the effort. Learn how to survive in the wilderness take a guided hike through the forest go on a canoeing excursion or discover the wonders of the stars through an interpretive night.
