UPDATED: Prince Albert police investigating man’s death in East Hill

Jul 22, 2024 | 4:39 PM

UPDATE – 8:44 a.m. Tuesday: Prince Albert Police are continuing to investigate after a man died Monday afternoon in the East Hill area.

Officers were called to the area on 18th Street E at around 2:50 p.m. to assist Parkland Ambulance who were tending to a man that was not conscious and not breathing.

Upon arrival, police located the 52-year-old man who was declared dead on scene. Police are actively investigating alongside the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Office and working to determine the cause of death.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

A thick line of yellow police tape is blocking off a section of Prince Albert’s East Hill area.

On Monday afternoon, the Prince Albert Police Service advised of an increased police presence on 18th Street E. The police tape stretches for several blocks from near the bridge to about fourth Avenue.

Monday night, Deputy Chief Farica Prince confirmed for paNOW they are investigating a death, but added it was too early to call it a homicide investigation.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.

This is a developing story and more information will be shared when it’s available.
