Horsin’ around in the heat at Kidzfest

Jul 18, 2024 | 5:10 PM

Despite some sweltering conditions, youth attending the 29th annual Kidzfest event at Prince Albert’s Kinsmen Park showed no signs of slowing down.

Kids ran throughout the park that stretched six city blocks as it was transformed into a massive playground. In addition to bouncy castles, there were games, circus performers, treats at a reduced cost and of course face painting.

The event had a good turnout even though Environment Canada had issued a heat warning. Joining in the fun was 8-year-old Frankie Murphy who reminded people to stay in the shade.

“You also can wear a hat,” she suggested.

Meanwhile, six year old Leo Leachman who was trying his hand at the games, said his favourite way to stay cool is go to the pool with his mom.

The event is designed to bring families and kids together and is put on by the City of Prince Albert.
