Prince Albert golfer Danny Klughart is adding some more hardware to his trophy case.

Klughart captured his fourth Saskatchewan Mid-Amateur Men’s Championship on Thursday at the Royal Regina Golf Club. He had previously won in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

In the opening round of the tournament, Klughart shot a three-over-par 71 while leader Jehremy Ryde of the Riverside Country Club in Saskatoon came out with a hot six-under-par 65.

Later in round two, Klughart managed a three-under while also shooting one-under in round three. Meanwhile, Ryde began to cool off, hitting a two-over and four-over-par on the last two rounds.

In the final round, it all came down to the final putt.

Klughart managed to sink a par putt on hole 18, which gave him the narrow victory as Klughart finished the tournament with a combined score of –1 and Ryde finished even par.

With the win, the P.A. golfer is now set to play in the Canadian Mid-Amateur Men’s Championship at the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club in Manotick, Ontario from Aug. 20-23.
