As a result of their continued investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP have charged a third woman in connection to a murder case at Hatchet Lake First Nation.

Jean St. Pierre of Wollaston Lake is alleged to have committed second-degree murder, and appeared in the community’s provincial court on June 26.

On June 22, at approximately 6:00 p.m., RCMP received a report that someone had been seriously injured at a residence on Hatchet Lake First Nation.

Officers responded immediately to the residence and learned the injured person had been taken to a local clinic.

The investigation had determined that an altercation occurred between a group of individuals.

As a result of the altercation, 42-year-old Christopher Joseyounen was seriously injured and was later declared deceased at the clinic.

Tricia St. Pierre, 36, from Hatchet Lake First Nation and 18-year-old Tinnisha Josie from Wollaston Lake have previously each charged with second-degree murder.

They also appeared in court in Wollaston Lake on June 26. Sources from within the community have confirmed for paNOW that St. Pierre and Josie are mother and daughter.

All three women were remanded to appear at La Ronge Provincial Court on July 22.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate.
