New product solves compaction problem on Western Canadian fields
The Launch Pad at Canada’s Farm Show (CFS) in Regina, Sask. serves as the platform to feature innovations in the agriculture sector.
Degelman Industries, based in Regina, used the show for the exclusive Canadian premiere of the Heavy Duty Staggered Ripper (HDSR) on the first day one of the show.
Derek Molnar, marketing manager with Degelman Industries, said the company wanted to make a product durable enough to deal with compacted soils where heavier tractors and other equipment are contributing to the problem.
“Compaction is starting to creep its way into the Prairies and farmers are trying to figure out what they can do to get more yield,” he said. “We think ripping is going to be a key to lock in the fields potential for a better crop, better yield, and more money in their pockets.”
