Carlton football players not deterred by sanctions
As a result of the latest sanctions by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, all extracurricular activities in the province have been grounded to a halt, but a group of football players who attend Prince Albert’s Carlton Comprehensive High School are pressing on.
Gage Prodeahl, along with some current and former Crusaders, have been running spring camp at the field outside Crescent Heights Arena. He told paNOW he was very worried when he heard their spring camp may not happen.
“I felt like I needed to step up and I just really like football. I felt like some of the guys also wanted to get out here and get some reps in,” he said.
Taz Smith-Windsor, who is currently playing defensive back for the Huskies men’s football team, and Scott Adamko, who plays for the Saskatoon Hilltops, have been helping run offense and defense drills. During Thursday’s practice, there was well over two dozen players on the field
