The leadership of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) is asking for the public’s help in locating Dominic Custer, a 27-year-old member of PBCN’s community of Deschambeault Lake who has been missing since June 7.

Details from a press release issued by PBCN Wednesday evening said Custer, also known by his nickname “Cho Cho Man,” was last seen in the early morning hours last Saturday at 200 River St. E. He is described as 5’4 tall, weighing 140 lbs, with a slim build. Custer has brown eyes and curly, black, neck-length hair. He has distinctive scars on his top left lip, right wrist, and neck, as well as a large brown birthmark on his left elbow. He also has tattoos on both forearms: one of a peace sign and another of a marijuana leaf. At the time of his disappearance, Dominic was wearing a black hat, a black windbreaker, and dark jeans.

Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation established an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at the Prince Albert Grand Council’s Urban Services, located at 211 1 Ave W. in the old Margo Fournier Centre. Volunteers can sign up at that location to assist in the search efforts.

Over 40 people, including members of Deschambault Lake, Pelican Narrows and Stanley Mission, have joined the search, along with support from Prince Albert City Police, Prince Albert Fire Department, PAGC’s Saskatchewan First Nations Emergency Management-Search and Rescue Team, Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, and Indigenous Services Canada.

“We are deeply concerned for Dominic’s safety and well-being,” said Chief Peter Beatty of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation. “Our community is coming together to support the search, and we urge anyone with information to come forward. Residents of Prince Albert and surrounding areas are asked to check their backyards, sheds, and any other outbuildings where Dominic may have sought shelter. Your assistance in this matter is crucial.”

If you have any details regarding Custer’s whereabouts, contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
