Prince Albert athletes clean up at provincial jiu jitsu tournament

The 17th annual Copa Saskatchewan was held this past Saturday in Regina and Prince Albert was well represented.

Both the Renegade Grappling Academy and North Wake Martial Arts had students compete.

From Renegade Grappling, Mark Hillock (mens) won two gold. He also finished fourth in the team challenge event

Among the youth competitors, Henry Jubenvill won two silver, and Dominic Parent won a bronze and a silver.

Representing North Wake Martial Arts, Penelope Reimer and Zuska Mclean won two silver (gi and no gi).

Gus Friesen and Travis Cloud each won two gold medals.

Avery Tupper and Denton Sexsmith won gold and Darcy Tupper finishd with a silver medal.

The CopaSask is Saskatchewan’s largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling tournament.

Over 500 athletes were registered.
