May 29, 2024 | 8:13 AM

Two dogs have died in an early morning house fire in Prince Albert.

According to the Prince Albert Fire Department, a house in the 2200 block of 6th Avenue East caught fire around 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Crews were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes.

“There was nobody home at the time…there were no people found in the home. Unfortunately, there were two dogs found deceased in the (home),” said Deputy Fire Chief Alex Paul. “They were brought out and revival attempts were made but that was unsuccessful.”

He added that the dogs likely died from smoke inhalation, and that the damage to the house “sounds like it would be fairly significant damage.”
