Vandalism forces P.A. Walmart to close for several hours

Shoppers in Prince Albert had one less option Wednesday afternoon after the local Walmart store was forced to lock its doors.
A note at the entrance read, “Due to unforseen circumstances, PA Walmart will be closing at 3:30 today, Wednesday, May 22.”
paNOW confirmed a post on Facebook that said the closure needed to happen so an electrical transformer that was vandalized could be replaced. No further details were provided including when the vandalism may have occurred. Employees remained at the store during the closure and assisted by walking around the building to watch for any potential fire hazards as a result of the electrical damage.
The store hopes to reopen its doors by 8 p.m. but couldn’t guarantee that would happen and apologized for any inconvenience it may cause customers.
