Traffic stop for mud covered plate leads to arrest
A mud-covered license plate on a vehicle recently led traffic officers to a driver without a license or registration, the wrong plates and some bolt cutters and balaclavas along with a lot of keys.
Kinistino RCMP pulled the vehicle over at 10:30 am on April 30 because of the mud-covered plate. Along with the lack of documentation, they found the driver had outstanding warrants for fraud in Carrot River and was wanted by Prince Albert Police for theft of a motor vehicle.
A 51-year-old resident of Medicine Hat was arrested and charged with driving while prohibited, having break-in instruments and possessing property obtained by crime.
He was remanded into custody until his first court appearance in Melfort the morning of May 6.
