Stopping human-caused wildfires the goal of new campaign by PAGC
Teaching people how much damage wildfires can cause and how people can prevent them is the target of a new campaign by the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC).
The PAGC is teaming up with the Sask. Public Safety Agency (SPSA) to run the educational campaign starting in May and finishing in June.
“Human-caused fires devastate our communities, landscapes, and wildlife. We’re ensuring our prevention messages deeply resonate within our communities by integrating our languages and the voices of our local leaders into our educational efforts. This campaign is about transforming awareness into action,” said Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte of the Grand Council
The goal is to stop or reduce the amount of wildfires started by people in northern Saskatchewan, according to a joint news release from both organizations.
