Man with knife arrested near Prince Albert child care facility

Prince Albert Police say a man armed with a knife, moving in the direction of a child care facility, was suffering from a mental health crisis.

The incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon in the city’s Midtown neighbourhood.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene and transported to Victoria Hospital for treatment.

No one was physically hurt.

According to a social media post, the man was discovered by a staff member.

The man had climbed over the fence and had blood on him. Upon seeing the staff member he jumped back over the fence and was soon after tackled by the responding officers.
