Zablocki, Rebels move within win of back-to-back provincial titles

Mar 27, 2024 | 11:31 AM

Prince Albert’s Stryker Zablocki and the Regina Rebels could claim their second straight Fedoruk Cup with a win on Wednesday.

The Rebels are leading the best-of-three series provincial championship series 1-0 over fellow P.A. native Sasha Malenfant and the Notre Dame Hounds following Regina’s dominant 7-3 win on Sunday night.

During that contest, Malenfant potted the lone assist on the Hounds third and final goal in the second period, while Zablocki lit the lamp twice for the Rebels in the third to close out the scoring.

Game 1 happened at the Co-Operators Centre in Regina and Game 2 will shift focus to Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox. Game 3, if necessary, will happen back at the Co-Operators Centre on Sunday afternoon.
