Neudorf residents reeling after four people found dead in rural home

People in Neudorf were shocked and terrified Tuesday after four people were found dead in a rural home near the community.

980 CJME reporter Gillian Massie was in the town, which is located about 135 kilometres east of Regina, and the surrounding area on Tuesday morning.

Massie said a couple who retired in the community told her they thought this happened in Neudorf, Germany, not Neudorf, Saskatchewan.

An RCMP cruiser was parked at the approach to a farm and wasn’t letting anyone past while the police investigation continued.

According to the RCMP, officers were conducting a wellness check Sunday night at the house, and found four adults dead inside.

Police said the deaths were considered suspicious, but an initial investigation indicated there wasn’t a risk to public safety. The RCMP didn’t provide any other details on the cause of the people’s deaths or the identities of the four people.

Major Crimes officers have taken over the investigation with the help of the provincial coroner’s office.
