Swinging With the Stars returns to P.A. this Saturday

Mar 22, 2024 | 5:00 PM

This year’s Swinging With The Stars takes over the Prince Albert Exhibition Centre on Saturday night.

The event is a major fundraiser for Hope’s Home in Prince Albert, a charity providing services for children with complex medical needs.

Last year, the event raised over $160,000 with P.A. Deputy Police Chief and partner Modeste McKenzie as the big winners.

So far, $42,000 has been raised.

This year, seven local stars and their dance partners will compete with each fundraising their amounts.

Right now, the team of Kelly Disiewich from MNP and Makenna Litzenberger a dancer and EMR, have raised the most with over $17,000 of their $10,000 goal.

However, as Mickey MacGilvary, Provincial Fundraising Coordinator explains, every amount raised by the dancers is extraordinary.

“It’s a little bit of a different experience for all of our dancers and their contacts and whatnot,” she said. “So, we do put that $10,000 goal online as a fun little goal for them.”

MacGilvary and her team are busy decorating the Exhibition Centre for the main event, ready before the dancers give their best performances and for audiences to be dazzled.

Voting and donations for Swinging With The Stars are still open on the Hope’s Home website with the sold-out event starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
