Prince Albert bowlers qualify for nationals

Mar 18, 2024 | 3:00 PM

Prince Albert will be represented at the Masters Nationals bowling tournament in June.

The second of two provincial qualifying events was held this past weekend at Minto Bowl.

The first round was held last November and over the course of the two weekends, the athletes played a total of 16 games.

The person with the highest totals for all four days gets named to singles, while the next five people make the team.

Making the ladies tournament team are Cora-Lee White-Furi and Carol Paetsch as their coach.

Joining the men’s team are Dallas Vandale and Sean Dieno.

Susan Polowski (also will be representing as singles) and Tamara Hamilton will be a part of the ladies teaching team and Lawrence Holizki is a part of the men’s teaching team.

Teaching and senior divisions are pins over average. Whomever has the highest pin fall over their average will play singles but they also bowl on the team as well. The next four that make the team get to take their top three days.

Nationals are scheduled to start at the end of June in Winnipeg.
